sick days

last week lucy caught a cold and a mild case of pink eye. predictably she passed it on to hazel. i disinfected the apartment but come tuesday the aches started. not fun. i'm pretty miserable. the girls still have their coughs but are otherwise their usual bouncy selves (lucky me). grant, so far, is fine. a very good thing, considering this is already turning out to be the worst semester in all of his schooling (and that's saying something).

saturday, as lucy was mending and before hazel really started getting sick, we ran to the park: 

lucy was her usual daredevil-self.

she hammed it up for me as well:

hazel did her fair share of mugging for the camera:

and put herself in plenty of danger as well:

she finds it thrilling to stomp on fire ant hills. apparently she's forgotten how painful their bites are...

she also demonstrated her ability to tackle the rock wall:

the visit ended with grant and hazel racing up and down the "hill" in a shameless attempt to tire her out:

*i had this post ready to go on wednesday or thursday but i couldn't get the video i wanted to upload. lame. anyway, i decided to just put it up with a little update on the sickness: i'm feeling better. still congested, uninterested in food(!) and hacking like a chronic smoker, but the chills and aches are gone. i've been able to sleep a lot this weekend and i think a couple more days should see me better...
