"yesterday was the ball park dedication*.....at 8:00 pm there was a dance....jared** told me to ask grant to dance cuz he wasn't asking anyone & visa-versa. so on the last song i asked grant to dance. he knows that jared told me to ask him. it was fun to dance with him too......we were dancing one way*** & he would say 'i'm getting dizzy. let's go the other way.' we did that about 3 times****...."
*there used to be a large field between our houses (grant and i grew up 2 blocks from each other) most of it is now residential, but one corner, in front of grant's house, is now a softball field.
**jared is my older brother who planned my marriage to grant long before grant and i thought of each other.

****that is all the commentary of this particular event in my diary. at the time i hadn't thought of grant as anything other than 'jared's cute and quiet snowboarding buddy'.

I'm betting that was the dance Jared also saved Jewel from the nameless neighborhood lech.... (And no, you, dear reader, DON'T know who that was...so don't bother trying to figure it out.) ;-) So, we have two 'at the beginning' big thank yous to extend to Jared.
I remember that! (and I DO know who you mean) Jared also asked Jewel to dance for the same song. I think we were even dancing next to each other. I'd forgotten until just now. How funny!

I was wondering how you and Grant ended up together. I just always remembered Grant as Jewels older brother who was a cool skateboarder. And had no idea your brother played a big part. How fun! Can't wait for more flashbacks!

I can just picture cousin Jared in a cupid outfit, with little wings. He should be proud of getting you two together. I think Grant noticed you long before he let on though. Keep the memories coming! That was great.
